Netball team ends top year

Ohakune Nightlife Security Netball Team had an extremely successful season, winning the following trophies from the Netball Association: Runners-up, 1st round; Runners-up, grading day; Winners, 2nd round; Winners, closing day. The team entered the Kurungaituke T ournament, which was held in Rotorua early September. They won the uniform trophy from among the 196 teams entered. The team's prize-giving was held on Saturday 28 October and trophies were awarded to the following players: Overall

player of the day - Agnes Mareikura; Overall "hard out player of the season" - Ali Hamlin; Players of the year- Marcia Apata, Ali Hamlin; Most improved players - Kate Worsfold, Eileen Clarke; Joker of the year - Roslyn Bishop; Supporter of the year - Gavin Hudson. The team expressed thanks to their patron, Steve Gordon and his wife Ronda, managers Kura Mareikura and Neville Clarke, ali who supported them throughout the season, and Winstone Pulp International Ltd for their on-going support.
