Pipiriki Road work to start January
Work on extending the seal on Pipiriki Road is expected to start in January 1996 and take three months. Pratt Contractors of Bunnythorp were awarded the contract in November to seal 4.2km of the road, from Waipuna Road to Kaitara Road. The road is being upgraded to cope with the increased logging truck traffic from Waimarino Forest as harvesting gets up to full speed in the near future. Four sections of the road between Ameku Road and Waipuna Road totalling 3.1km are to be "rehabilitated" with the work going out to tender soon.
