Waimarino Golf
On Sunday 26 November we could be excused for thinking that we were back in the grips of winter with the wind blowing and the cold rain leaking through our wet weather gear. But again 25 hardy souls teed off in another of our summer? club days.
Results: Seniors; 1 J Hammond 41 points; 2 G Creedy 39 points; 3 P Goldfinch 37; 4 G Imhoff. Juniors: 1 SGray42;2RBrown 40; 3 C Heinold 38; D Fournier 36. A special note of congratulations to Pat Goldfinch who scored the ultimate in golfing endeavour when he aced the 17th hole. A footnote to this story is that it is the third of his career. NextThursday the club will host it's weekly twilight tournament. After the round of golf, all those interested in playing in the teams competition for this summer are invited to lodge their names with the vice captain, Neil Black. This year a draw will be done to make up the teams, and only these teams will be eligible for the teams prize, and as in past years we would like to encourage all golfers and non golfers to come and join with us, whether it is as a team members or as an individual, all welcome. On Sunday will be the christmas cheer at Taihape. We would like to see as many of our members there as possible so as to preempt them to support us again the following week. For more information con-
