Motorcyclists rally for AIDS
Motorcyclists met on Sunday to support a fundraising effort for the Bruce Burnett Memorial Fund which aims to provide direct financial assistance to people living with HIV and/or acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS). Local Uly sses Motorcycle Club riders met outside Peak FM's studios to show their support for David Bailey, who is riding the length of New Zealand on the Baton of Hope
Run. Deputy mayor Bob Peck handed over a letter ot hope" from the mayor, Weston Kirton, to join the hundreds of others that will be taken to Auckland to arrive on Friday 1 December, World AIDS Day. Although he alone travels the whole route from Bluff to Cape Reinga riding a loaned Honda Goldwing, David is supported along the way by riders from several clubs including the Ulysses riders.
