Income support Xmas payout

Income support payments fall on Boxing Day this year but payments are being advanced to Saturday 23 December. Income Support Services advise people to apply for an Automatic Teller Machine (ATM) card or chequebook if they want their money early. ISS staff said they wanted people to have plenty of warning so they could choose to either withdraw the money early or wait an extra day to receive it. "If they opt to draw out the money early they must be aware that their next pay-

ment is not until 9 January so they will have to plan carefully to get through that time," said operations manager Jackie Brown.
