Word process success

Fifteen Ruapehu College pupils have scored very high in recent Pitman Qualifications Intermediate Examinations for Word Processing. Two passed and 13 others gained First Class passes. "Considering that to gain a First Class pass an attainment mark of 98.5 per cent must be reached, this is an outstanding achievement for the College," said principal Ralph Lane.

Mr Lane said he was delighted with the success which was a result of some excellent teaching by Dan Fournier (Canadian exchange teacher) and the pupil's careful examination preparation. With a change in emphasis due in 1996 from typing to keyboard skills, word processing and computer studies, he hoped that this result would encourage others to become involved in these subjects involving a higher degree of modem technology.
