Dance snow brings universal smiles

Heather McQueen of the McQueen School of Dance in Taihape has been taking dance in Waiouru for two terms now and all the hard work paid off on Saturday when her young charges put on their first dance recital. Parents crowded into the community hall armed with cameras and video camcorders and were rewarded with

nearly two hours of vigour and colour. None of the 32 Waiouru children buckled under nerves and every single parent in the hall had to smile as their children showed them what they'd learnt. Up and coming young dancers from Taihape also performed, so the children got a chance to see how they may progress in the future.
