GHW 'waiting list' compares well nationally
According to the Coalition for Public Health' s survey of Crown Health Enterprises around the country, the average time of waiting for surgery at Good Health W anganui is about one year. In each of the areas of specialisation the waiting times are as follows: General surgery 371 days, orthopaedic surgery 363.5 days; ear, nose and throat surgery 164.2 days; ophthalmology 273.6 days; gynaecology 207.6 days; dental surgery 87.6 days.
These figures compare favourably with some other CHE waiting lists for general surgery such as: Northland Health 603 days; Waitemata Health 830 days; Health Waikato 888 days; TairawhitiHealth 543 days; Taranaki Healthcare 500 days; Hawkes Bay Healthcare 1449 days and; Nelson Marborough Health Services 1068 days.
