Kindergarten seeks new enrollments

Ohakune Kindergarten, which provides quality early education for children from three to five years, is seeking new enrollments. Children start at three years of age and attend four sessions per week, two mornings and two afternoons. Kindergarten provides an environment where children can learn through play. Kindergarten runs a curriculum which encourages children to create using materials, and mediums provided. These include, paints, glue, fingerpaint, blocks, puzzles, carpentry, waterplay, computers, play-dough, dramatic-

play, books, puzzles, sand and many other outdoor activities that develop children' s gross motor-skills. Supervisor Y vonne T riggell said the curriculum is very much individually based with the emphasis on self-esteem and developing the child's. confidence to be able to explore and experiment with all mediums in a non-failure situation. Early childhood education is very important as the skills learnt young are carried for life. "If you would like to come and look at a session please feel free: we would love to see you for a cup of coffee," said Yvonne.
