New-look telephone book delivered

More than 43,000 copies of the renamed and revamped 1996 Wanganui Telephone 'Book' are being delivered throughout the region as from last Friday. A redesign of the book' s cover and introductory pages has made the directory more helpful and easy to read, says Telecom Directories. It has been renamed the 'Telephone Book' instead of 'directory', because research showed most people related to the new name. Government department listings are back, complete

with an index of services, known as the 'Blue Pages'. Produced as the- first stage of the 'Government Within Reach' project, the 'Blue Pages' will be included in each new edition of the regional Telephone Books. Telecom Directories Managing Director Kevin Riley says the change to the Telephone Book is a move generated by the wishes of customers. The cover of this year's Wanganui TelephoneBook features the work of Telecom 1995 Wanganui Regional Art Award win-

ner Glenn Hutchins . ' Spirit of the Land' features hills, river and plains and reflects colours special to the Wanganui region.
