Sound Raetihi stock prices

Raetihi' s first sheep and cattle sale for the new season seemed to fetch fairly sound prices, particularly with the sheep. Prices for hoggets, both ewes and mixed sexed, ranged around $27.70, $34.70 and $35.00, with CM Berry fetching top price. Buyers came from Taumarunui, Wanganui and Marton. The cattle section of the sale for yearling steers saw prices of around $250 to $377 with top price for N & M Williams Teaching $565 and $645 respectively. The Herrington partnership of J and L Proude presented three Simmental bulls for sale but the lot was passed in.
