Ruapehu eruption captures phone card attention

The Mt Ruapehu eruption that captured the attention of New Zealanders for days is to appear on a commemorative Phonecard. The shot on the Phonecard was taken from above Mt Ruapehu by a photographer in a helicopter and shows the mountain' s Crater Lake and a huge plume of steam and ash rising from it into the sky. Only 40,000 of the Mt Ruapehu $10 Phonecards have been produced of which 36,000 will go on sale to the general public. The remaining 4000 PhoneCards will be packaged for the national and international collector market.
