Not a fair go!

• Re RCL director, John Martin's, "pat, pat on the bottom" for RCL: You are not listening John. What the people are saying is, - "It's not a fair go!" - using ratepayers money to set up a powerful competitor for ratepayers' businesses. It may be legal, but ethically it's sick! RCL may be a success story but for who? Perhaps for the directors receiving $8800 each or for highly paid administrative staff but I believe a careful independent investigation would not show a success story for the ratepayers. Some of RCL's profit was made at the expense of our road maintenance. RCL has been paid for what it has not done and unbelievably our councillors virtually signed the cheque. Director Martin's defence of RCL is understandable as he is just protecting his and the mates financial interests, $8800 per year (Yum yum). Director Martin does not appear to be well informed. I would like him to know that all the people I have listened to, who oppose RCL's business grab, are not financially involved in garden centres but they do believe in acting decently and fairly towards their fellow ratepayers, the garden centre folks of Ohakune and Raetihi. Even Mt Ruapehu has shown its displeasure over this matter, so, watch it RCL!
