Netball challenge

Raetihi Primary School parents and teachers held their annual netball challenge against the pupils on Friday 22 September. The pupil' s senior A team

played the teachers, while their B team played against the parents. It was a great day and a lot of fun. The supporting pupils were probably about 80/20 in favour of their mates and it showed. Every time the pupils scored the stand-up cheers were almost deafening. The teachers came out onto the court sporting black and red knickerbockerlength golden-oldie shorts and matching tops, to another round of hearty cheers of approval, by the children. The parents were playing for glory on Court Two against team B. Results: Teachers 17 v Pupils 22; Parents 1 8 v Pupils 6. The players: Senior A - Carrie Donaldson, ' Awhina Hiroti, Pinenga Williams, Linda Graves, Ariana T aura, Deena Wikohika, Casey Scarrow. Teachers - Dave Latimer, David Fisher, Bruce Francis, Kathy Forster, Monica Jones, Alison McGregor, Grant Fountain, Petra Corbett. Senior B - Vanessa Irwin, Erin Kilmartin, Deena Hammond, Susan Luff, Julie Imhoff, Renee Scarrow. Parents - Vanessa Katene, Maria Condon, Hoppy Hiroti and other parents who seemed to sub all the time.
