Rumblings
• Between Ohakune and Waiouru there is a township called Rangataua which also has a rate-pay-ing population, but it seems that candidates for the Mayoral position etc do not know it exists. Not one candidate had the decency to have a meeting to meet the people here, but I suppose we are used to being ignored except when it' s time to collect the rates.
In the Council works programme for 1995/1996 there is not a mention of any work being done in Rangataua, that is not really a surprise as very little is done anyway. It's strange that when people get on coijncils they seem to think they are accountable to no one and all of the promises they made are forgotten. If they can't stand up to others and fight for what they believe then they should not bother to stand. I hope the incoming may or i s a good li stener and treats all ratepayers equally .
