Health funder meets with local group
The following report is submitted by Jenny Decker, chairperson of the Waimarino Health Watch Committee: Community consultation continued last week when three members of the Central Regional • Health Authority met with community group representatives at the Health Centre. The main topic was the delivery of in-patient services at Waimarino Health Centre. Fran Aslton and Rob Griffiths from CRHA explained various aspects of the three service options, outlined in the discussion
paper which was to be delivered to every household. The question of the provider option was discussed also. Good Health Wanganui currently provide matemity and community services and have indicated a willingness to continue to provide in-patient services if satisfactory price can be negotiated with CRHA. Discussions have also taken place with another local provider. Questions from the floor were answered freely by the CRHA representatives with input from Marilyn Rimmer, service manager of maternity and child
health, Good Health Wanganui. This two-way communication was useful in letting people from Wellington get to know our needs and concems. The public is urged to make submissions to this documents. Please comment on each option in y our submission, then rank them in order of preference. Members of the T askforce will be available for any help with these submissions at Waimarino Health Centre over the next two weeks. See the advertisement in the classified section.
