Garden centre concerns

Concerns about Ruapehu Constructiori Limited setting up a garden centre in Ohakune have been the subject of letters to the editor (see Page 4). A number of people are angry that the council-owned company is setting up in opposition to existing businesses, who are ratepayers and thus supporting the company through their rates. John Martin, one of RCL's directors, told the Bulletin the company was aware of the concerns and would be responding to the criticisnis later this week. The company' s directors held a meeting last Friday.
