Holiday fun at Whakapapa

Whakapapa's August sehool holiday programme is shaping up to be a winner with a wide range of fun and exciting events for children and adults alike. This year's events include face painting and clowns, sumo wrestling, Moro Bar Scrambles, Streets Paddle Pop Treasure Hunts, a Lindauer Champagne Celebration, Ski Demo Days, a Snow Groomer Demonstration, and a Toss the Ski Boot Competition. The highlight of the two week programme will be the Coca Cola Fireworks in the Snow on Saturday 2 September, Top O' the Bruce Plaza at 6pm. Also watch out for the giant snow sculptures at Knoll Ridge and the Top O' the Bruce Plaza, which have been hand made by sculptor Logan Shipgood. Whakapapa's Magic Wizard and the Streets Paddle Pop Lion will also visit the mountain during the holiday programme which runs from Saturday August 26 to Sunday September 10. Three major events on the Whakapapa Race Calendar also coincide with Coca Cola Sehool Holiday Programme. These are the Lion Ice Te Heu Heu Giant Slalom on August 26, the Coca Cola North Island Ski Championships being held on September 4 and 5 and the Obermeyer Juniors Giant Slalom on September 10. See you there!
