Buyer beware — fraudulent lift passes
Skiers buying cheap Five Day Anytime Passes from scalpers in the carparks can expect no sympathy from Whakapapa's management. Recently Whakapapa's ticket checkers have come across the expertly printed fraudulent passes which are a slightly different colour. The paper can be ripped and with a number of other small variations - unlike the real thing.
"Anyone caught with the tickets will lose their money," said Scott Lee, Marketing Manager for Whakapapa. "There is no way the passes can get through our ticket checking system, he said. "We have no sympathy for people trying to beat the system. Anyone giving us information that leads to the prosecution of the individual or individuals printing the tickets will be rewarded."
