Bump school comes to Ruapehu
The Whakapapa ski school is holding a five-day coaching course in freestyle skiing from 28 August to 1 September. The course is aimed at young skiers who are looking to add a new dimension to their enjoyment of their annual ski holiday. Freestyle skiing has been a full medal Olympic sport since 1992 and the growth in the sport in New Zealand has been steady since 1990 when the New Zealand Freestyle Ski Association was re-formed after lying dormant for four or five years.
with the Power BarMogul Challenge at Whakapapa. This event is a fun end-of-season event which will give all North Island freestyle skiers the chance to try out their skills in a fun event. There will be tons of prizes such as Smith goggles, AJ Hackett Bungy Jumps, Swatches, Head, and Raichle Boot Bags, Hart poles, Ziener gloves, Salomon bags etc. To register for the freestyle coaching courses contact the Whakapapa ski school at 07-892-3738. The coaching course will offer tuition in mogul skiing and in aerials — skiers will be taught the latest mogul techniques as practised on the Freestyle World Cup circuit and all the best aerial moves such as helis , daffies and Cossacks will be taught. For the very keen there is a six- weekend course starting on the weekend of 2&3 September and finishing on the weekend of 7&8 October. The final weekend of this course coincides
