Turoa has devel oped what they sayaresomefantastic ski lesson and activity programmes for the kids

during the school holidays. "These sorts of programmes are well known overseas, but in New Zealand we are breaking new

ground with all day ski and activity groups," said marketing manager Joanna Savage. "At Turoa we recognise

that parents' time on the slopes is valuable so now all you have to do is look after yourselves and leave the kids to us," The programmes cater for kids from four to ten years and are designed for beginner level skiers only. There are a number of options including morning, afternoon and day-lOng programmes. They include a combination of ski school lessons, supervised lunch and Yeti ' s SkiWee activity programme. There are a number of options which allow parents the freedom of skiing without their kids for almost six hours. For $40, 'Yeti's Morning Mayhem' programme lasts from 10am until 2pm and includes a ski lesson, supervised lunch and the afternoon SkiWee activity programme. It starts with the ski school lesson and children are placed in groups of similar ability and age. The children are then supervised over lunch in the base area followed by the Ski Wee programme for two hours of fun activities and games. Parents need to collect their children from the SkiWee programme in the base area at 2pm. TheYeti'sMidDayMadness programme (cost: $30) starts with the SkiWee programme in the base area at

12 noon. SkiWee is designed for young kids from 4-10 years and is supervised by fully qualified Primary School teachers. It's two hours of full on fun and includes all sorts of games, face painting, snowman building, colouring etc. After SkiWee, kids are

picked up by an instructor for a beginner level lesson on the Alpine Meadow. The ultimate break for parents is the Yeti' s All Day Allsorts. Starting at lOam, this programme lasts all day and is the first programme of its kind in New Zealand. For $60 the All Day Allsorts
