Wizzard's a winner with wee ones (and parents)

Children are flocking to Whakapapa Wiz ard's Club for the ultimate on-mountain entertainment and education in a warm and stimulating environment — so say Whakapapa' s marketing people. "Each season more and more children who have visited the creche in the past are returning to the Top O' the Bruce facility for the daily activities," said creche supervisor Libby Avery. She said it has taken a couple of years to build the business, but they are now getting a lot of children coming back. "Response from parents to the programmes that we offer has also been very encouraging," she says. The Wizard's Club keeps children busy, allowing their parents some "child-free" time to ski. The programme is set up on a daily basis, with activities ranging from painting and carpentry to story reading, singalongs, and floor games. Outdoor play, morning and afternoon snacks and a rest time are also structured into the day. Up to 30 children between the ages of two and six years can attend the creche, which is open between 8.30am and 4.15pm seven days a week. It is a Ministry of Educationapproved creche. Nursing mothers are also welcome to make use of the facilities at the Wizard's Club.
