Fashion fun for fire fund
About 60 women turned up to join in a ladies night out at the Ruapehu Hotel last week for a night of fun, fashion, facials, make-up, massage, aerobics and general fitness advice and bridal fashions. The evening was organised by Images Hairdressing and Prices Pharmacy, Raetihi. Donna McGrath, Sarah Deighton, Eileen Rowe, Angel Rapana were the main presenters. Donna Images Hair Salon, Sarah is managing the pharmacy, Eileen runs her own business in aromatherapy, health and beauty care and Angel Rapana takes a steps and aerobics class. The theme for evening was 'accept me, I am I" and was to raise funds to assist Christine and Gregg Windle with the restoration of their photograph album after their recent house fire. The evening raised $500. The evening got under way with models from within the community. They were, Christine and Jean Windle, Pricilla Stout, Vicki Zimmerman, Angel Rapana, Jackie Rapana, Dale Geraghty, Margaret Kilmartin and Marion Warner. Christine Reynolds, Gail Wills, Margaret Black, Eileen Rowe, Sarah Deighton and Christine Hawira were the bridal models. The brides showed off their own gowns with styles from the 80s through to the 90' s. Michelle Haugh worked with the team in setting up the stage, while Kaylene McNaught, who manages her own shop, A Place In Time, was master of ceremonies for the night. Alex McLean provided the sound system. Hairdresser's apprentice Sharon Wagstaff had the opportunity to show her skills to date.
