Playcentre 30 years on

People involved with the W aiouru Playcentre celebrated the 30th anniversary of the centre's first session, recently. The playcentre was initially set up because a second kindergarten had been denied the community by the then kindergarten association. A second kindergarten was established shortly afterwards, but the playcentre movement

in Waiouru survi ved and is still going strong. The Waiouru playcentre prides itself in being a viable, registered earlychildhood education option for families, offering a quality education for both children and adults and the support of a parent built co-operative.
