Advertisement l June's Tune l Survey results A correctly conducted survey, not the 'yellow paper', shows a concern for youth at risk in the Waimarino. They are at risk of becoming unemployed and at risk of following rebellious behaviour. A community's responsibility could be to find occupation for youth. A council, with these survey results in mind, can lobby govemment for better resources. The Safer Community Council has potential but unless there are actions on many fronts we will wonder at its effect. New Zealand Employment is doing its best. It just is not good enough. Contacting the right people, listening, then acting will be a part of the new council. The mayor and her team will support efforts to increase employment. It will be between community, government and family. Jobs for everyone is not a dream, its a vision for our district. The saviour might be forestry, farming and tourism. The survey shows a need and with everyone's help we'll have a great district. Mayoral candidate June Baker, Phone 07-895-4655. The Bulletin is best for getting your message to more people
