Waiouru Police File
• A room at Ngamatea House in Waiouru was broken into over the weekend of 12/13 August with money and alcohol being stolen. Waiouru Police request any suspicious activities noted during this time to be reported. • Speed was a contributing factor for the non-injury car accidents on the Desert Road last Wednesday and Friday according to Waiouru police. No other veliicles were involved in either accident, Waiouru police said. • A motorbike handed in to police several weeks ago has been claimed after the owners saw the Bulletin police file. Waiouru Police Constable Ed Baker said the motorbike had run out of petrol and when the owners went to pick the bike up the next day, it had disappeared. • Waiouru police have a 'Skylark' 10 speed mountain bike that has been at the station for several months. The owner can pick the bike up from the police station upon suitable identification. Also on hand is a men's Healing 10-speed bike handed in back in April. • Waiouru police would like to remind drinking-drivers that they will get no sympathy when caught. Constable Baker said the community van is there to be used. "So use it or else," he said.
