8-Ball tournament held

Inter club annual 8 ball tournament in Raetihi 12 August 1995: Raetihi Cosmolpolitan club hosted the annual 8 ball adjunct challenge shield competition this year. This is a singles competition played between Raetihi Cosmolpolitan club, The Waimarino club (Raetihi), Waiouru R.S.A., National Park and Ohakune clubs. It is a team event with 5 players in each team and each team must have one female player. Each individual round played, (one on one) plays for points, with the best of three games; to last year Waiouru held the shield, however this year a Raetihi challenge came

from the Cosmolpolitan team Of Pine Wilson, Margie Berry, Des McFadyen, Trevor Fredricksen and Robert Brown. They were the out right winners. Runners up were Waiouru, their team included Bud Abbott, Garth Wasley , Bruce Cunningham, Juju Rukupo and Angie Drylie. The challenge commenced at 10am last Saturday morning and it was a full day event, the final rounds completed around 5 .30pm. Bobby Lilburn presented the prizes. The shield was carved by members of a group of young people who were on a outer farm skills access course from The Maungarongo Kokiri centre.
