Waimarino darts

On Monday 31 July there was a good turnout and a doubles night was played. Lou Most and Arvell Wallace were the winners with eight out of eight games. Runners-up were Greg Windle and Rosalind Foster. Winner of the high start was Stephen Wallace with 101, Glen Wallace took the high score of 140 after a play-off with Hira Parata, Craig Dolman, and

Steven and Arvell. Greg won the high finish of 105. On Tuesday 8 August there was a small tumout and singles were played. Lou Most was the winner and Ken Crossan runner-up. The high start went to Ken with 120 and Casey (the arrow) Scarrow scored her first ever maximum of 1 80. Glenn Wallace, so stunned by her good fortune, failed to take stock of how well she was playing until too late, when she methodically subjected him to a humiliating two straight games defeat in the next round.

Lou Most was also rattled by her skill and was almost her next victim but for an unexplained breeze inside the room which blew his erratic darts back on course and he eventually triumphed after an agonisingly long time. Glenn was consoled somewhat when he won the highest score (also 180), though his hand was trembling when he took the money. Lou won the high finish of 76.
