Ruapehu road network under pressure
The very wet weather recently has caused a lot of slip damage and the water has soaked into the metal road pavements causing them to develop soft spot failures, reports the district council. Rural road users are asked to carefully consider their need for heavy traffic movements on unsealed roads as there currently is virtually no capacity to carry heavy vehicles on a lot of the District' s minor metal roads, reports the council.
