Working bee well supported
Waiouru Parent Teacher Association chairperson Elizabeth Carver is please at the outeome of the recent working bee at the school. "We achieved what we wanted to achieve and some more. An hour and a half and we were all out of there," she said. Two Unimog loads and two trailer loads of tree clippings and branches were chainsawed and hand sawed then carted away to the dump. "I really appreciate everybody turning out and doing what they did. All these husbands that were dragged along — it was great." About 15 people volunteered their time for the working bee, including the school caretaker Freeman Paul, who Mrs Carver said does not have equipment or the time to carry out such large task. "I didn't expect him to give up his Sunday," she said.
