The Kenningston Kindergarten fashion show, held in Waiouru last week in association with Annah S of Ohakune, was a big hit. Over 50 adults and as many children attended the show that was compered by Annah S Ohakune manager Pennie Sands. All of the models were from W aiouru apart from two from Ohakune.
Mrs Sands explained the work of Annabel Stretton who founded Annah S (formerly Sam & Libby) and said the business will be featured on the television programme 'Success' sometime in July. Annah S outlets are spread throughout the North Island with a shop also in Queenstown. The Ohakune outlet stocks seconds and samples as well as firsts and
this week there will be 50 per cent off a selection of ladies suits. Mrs Sands said the fashion show went well from her point of view bringing a lot of new faces into the store. "I thought it was very good. We had a great response. I've been asked to come again and we'll do the summer stock," Mrs Sands said. Waiouru co-ordinator Gillian Wasley said the show was a great success with final profit tallies still to be made. "There is still the raffle going and we haven't quite tallied it all up yet, but I think we' ve raised between three to four hundred dollars," Mrs Wasley said. "I would like to thank all the helpers, Pennie Sands, Mike and Shelley Richards — they did a lot of work, Diane Tews, Mark Pitts for the stereo system and David Shaw who did the bar. I hope I haven't left anyone out! " Mrs Wasley said.
