Raetihi school wins netball

The Raetihi Primary School 'All One' netball team, has plenty to smile about. They recently competed in the Taihape Junior netball tournament and came home with the gold medal. The tournament, held on 1 1 June meant that the girls needed to post wins against seven teams to qualify for the finals. The teams competing were: Hunterville Primary, Waiouru (two teams), Taihape Pirates, Ohakune Primary,

Taihape Primary (two teams) and finally Huia, who they beat 13-6. The tournament win also gave them the trophy and as this is an annual event, Raetihi will be back there to challenge once again. Caroline Heta and Bubba Hope coach the team and this year Raetihi will play in the McDonalds Cup tournament in Wanganui. Under the Waimarino Netball association, the girls currently lie in runner-up position.
