Builder takes on the Initials
Advertorial Waimarino builder Pe ter Craig has taken over the Initial Homes franchise for this area. Pete Craig Building started in 1985, following the completion of his adult apprenticeship in Whakatane. He has worked on and completed many residential, commercial and industrial properties as well as ski chalets in the area. He qualified as a master builder in 1 993. Approached by Initial Homes, he became one of the 30 New Zealand franchisees in the country. Initial Homes Limited wasestablishedin 1983, fast becoming the best selling solid timber homes in the country. They are constructed using a solid timber building system interlocked with extruded aluminium profiles. Interior walls are of highest grade radiata pine and exterior cladding can be of any suitable material of the customer's choice. With the warm glow of the pine wall interiors Initial Homes have a cosy, relaxing, comfortable feel
which has become very popular. They are high quality, medium priced homes available in either kitset or fully built. An Initial building is all pre-cut at the Rotorua factory then transported to the building site as a total package of components. The boards are locked together on-site and the walls are further strengthened with steel tie rods — a system that allows for extremely
quickconstruction. Factory cutting of boards contributes greatly to excellent quality control. There is a range of seventeen home plans and these are updated and amended regularly. An Initial Home buyer can add small or large enhancements such as room additions, kitchen extensions, window seats etc, at the time of building or later as they can afford or as they need them.
