Waimarino Golf
On Sunday the Waimarino Golf Club held the men's first qualifying round of the club championship. A surprisingly small field turned out for this, the first of three qualifying rounds with the best two rounds for each player counting towards their ceded placing in the final draw of championship matchplay. Club day results: Ladies; 1 P Mcllroy nett 74; 2 L Drinkwater 74. Juniors: 1 C Heinold nett 70;2JMartin72;3GLind73. Seniors: 1 W Marsh nett 70; 2 T Fredrick jnr 70; 3 S Gray 71; 4 B Henry 71. The President' s Trophy team to play in the first of the elimination rounds to be held next Sunday will be: senior J Ennis; B Drinkwater; P Goldfinch; D Windle. Juniors: G Lind; S Gray; B Henry; C Heinold. Bar duty for this week is B Henry.
