Ballet classes in Waiouru are proving popular with a large number of young girls and some boys enrolling for classes. Ballet teacher Heather McQueen travels from Taihape every Friday to take the classes that have attracted youngsters from Ohakune as well. Mrs McQueen said things are now running smoothly after the initial organisation period with classes fairly well full apart from the jazz ballet class that still has vacancies for children eight and over.
