No panic in Waiouru at health cuts
The Waiouru Community Health Group met on Thursday night and discussed concems at the planned cuts to health services by Good Health Wanganui. Acting chairperson Sherri Weinberg said the group is very concemed at GHW moves to cut services but doesn't anticipate these cuts will affect Waiouru. "Because we don't have major services here — our services are primary
health care services — we don't really anticipate losing services. We will be writing (to GHW) to find out where we stand — how cuts will affect our area." "We're not proposing to panic." However, the group are very concemed at the apparent apathy of the Waiouru community with regards to health services. "People do not seem to be interested in the health needs of the community,"
Ms Weinberg said, explaining the community health group is vital to get services in place "and fight for them." She said a flier will be sent out to explain the health group' s role, and inviting people to participate. Four people attended the meeting with
Ms Weinberg acting as secretary be-
