Mixed results in Raetihi sheep and cattle sale
There was quite a good turn out of buyers last week at the sheep and cattle sale in Raetihi, particularly from Rangitikei, Manawatu and Wanganui. Mixed aged ewes averaged around $25.50, with some good mouthed Romneys realising between $20.20 and $26.50. HP Manson estate topped the sale with 270 wethers fetching $42.10. Male sexed lambs fetched prices from between $15.20 and $22.70. Tawanui Station sold some 54 Crypt Or at $21.50 and another 31 at $38.70. When speaking with Steve T apa, manager from T awanui, he was pleased with the day's results where Tawanui was concerned. Cattle prices, probably a little down with some weaner steers at around 20 months, fetching between $232.00 and $270.00 and $290.00 respectively. Prices realised between $187.00 and around $220.00 and $245.00.
