New head for Good Health Wanganui

Good Health Wanganui chairman Denis Woods announced last week that Peter Goldup has been appointed as the crown health enterprise' s new chief executive offieer. Mr Goldup will replace Ron Janes who has headed the Crown Health Enterprise since its formation in 1993. For the past three years Mr Goldup has been general manager of commercial services with Health Waikato, New Zealand' s second largest CHE. Previously, he had 17 years' experience in'merchant and investment banking in

New Zealand, England and France. Born in New Plymouth, Mr Goldup holds undergraduate and postgraduate qualifications in business studies from Massey and Victoria universities.

"I'm looking forward to continuing the excellent work started at Good Health by Ron and I'm very interested in enhancing the statue of GHW as the preferred provider of health services for the Central Regional Health Authority," said Mr Goldup. "I've been involved in the health reforms from the beginningduringmytimeatHealthWaikato and was part • of the development and restructuring of that CHE. I have also been involved in health contracting with RHAs." Mr Goldup will take up the position on 3 July.
