Waiouru goes mad on sausages
Members of the St John Ambulance in Waiouru held a sausage sizzle recently to raise funds for a Kendrick extraction device (KED). The KED immobilises the spine and is used for taking people out of cars that may have spinal injuries. Worth about $400, St John people raised more
than enough with the team running the butcher out of sausages. "We could have sold a lot more," said a spokesperson. "We went and got another 10 kilos and exhausted his supply. It was very much worthwhile."
