SCHEDULE OF ADMINISTRATIVE CHARGES Public notice is hereby given pursuant to Section 690A of the Local GovernmentAct 1974, and Regulation 7 of- the Health (Regulations of Premises) Regulations 1966, to amend the schedule of Administrative charges. The fees have been set so as to significantly recover all associatea costs with the defrvering of the appropriate services. Copies of the proposed Schedule of Fees are available for inspection at the Council Offices and Libraries in Taumarunui, Ohakune and Raetihi. DOG REGISTRATION FEES 1995/96 Pursuant to Section 49 of the Dog Control and Hydatids Act public notice is hereby given that the following registration fees for dogs in the Ruapehu District have been set for 1 995/96. For all dogs due for registration on I July I9v5 and registerea on or before Friday 28 Julv 1995 - $90 with reDates as follows: 1 Dogs subject to Six Weekly Cestocidal Treatments - no rebate. 2 Dogs subject to Movement Control Conditions - $25 rebate. 3 Dogs subject to Rural Movement Control Conditions - $57 rebate. 4 Dogs subject to S e I e c t e d Ownership Policies - $55 rebate. For all dogs registered on or after I August 1 995, which were due for registration on I july 1995 - $90 plus a late penalty fee of $20. Collars will be available for purchase, as will worming tablets. Current registration discs, if lost, may be replaced at a cost of $3.50. The fees are due on I July 1995 and may be paid at Council's Manuaute Street Office, Taumarunui, the Service Centres at Ohakune and Raetihi, or by posting the registration form and fees to the Ruapehu District Council to be received by 4.30pm on Friday 28 July 1995.
SPrivate Bag Taumarunui Telephone: 0-7895 8188 0-7 895 3256 NOTICE OF INTENTION TO MAKE AND LEVY RATES FOR 1995/96 FINANCIAL YEAR Notice is given pursuant to the requirements of Section I 10 of the Rating Powers Act 1988 and amendments, that the Ruapehu District Council intends at a meeting to be held in the Council Chambers, Huia Street, Taumarunui on Friday 30 June 1995 commencing at I 1.00am, after first adopting the 1995/96 Annual Plan, to make and levy the following rates and charges for the year commencing on July I, 1995, and concluding on June 30, 1996. The rates, unless otherwise specified, will be levied upon the land value of all rateable property appearing in the Valuation Roll for the time being in force. Unless otherwise stated "the Act" means the Rating Powers Act 1 988 and amendments. 1 .0 GENERAL RATE (Section 1 2 of the Act) The General Rate is levied for the purpose of meeting the following expenses within the District: District Council, Mayor's Office, Committees and Subcommittees, and contributions to community based organisations; all regulation activity after full recovery of user pays charges in accordance with Council policy, but including a special contribution to Hydatids and Dog Control to partially fund the costs of Dog Control and Community Education; possible contribution to capital improvements on a merits basis; maintenance of the stormwater disposal and flood protection systems including minor improvements; part maintenance of, and improvement to all sanitary landfills; maintenance of parks and reserves, sports grounds, public toilets, district libraries, general property, cemeteries and swimming pools; Civil Defence and Rural Fire Protection. 1.1 A General Rate of zero point one four zero eight (0.1408) cents in the dollar on the land value of all rateable property as appearing in the Valuation Roll for the time being in force for the Ruapehu District Council District. Revenue Required in $000: $558.1 2.0 UNIFORM ANNUAL GENERAL CHARGE (Section l9of The Act) The Uniform Annual General Charge is levied for the purpose of meeting Council's basic infrastructural costs. 2.1 A Uniform Annual General Charge of $280.00 on every separately rateable property within the District. Revenue Required in $000: $1978.7 3.0 SEPARATE RATES (Section 1 6 of the Act) Different Separate Rates are levied to partially fund the cost of roading in the Northern Area (Ohura, Taumarunui and National Park Wards) and the Southern Area ( Waimarino and Waiouru Wards). The use of different Separate Rates for each area reflects the difference in roading standards and costs and the difference in valuation of the land. 3.1 A Separate Roading North Rate of zero point seven one seven three (0.7173) cents in the dollar on the land value of all rateable property contained within the Ohura, Taumarunui and National Park Wards. Revenue Requried in $000: $1,990.6 3.2 A Separate Roading South Rate of zero point seven four four five (0.7445) cents in the dollar on the land value of all rateable property contained within the Waimarino and Waiouru Wards. Revenue Required in $000: $884.1 A further Separate Rate is levied to cover part of Council's costs in the promotion of the District, including support to local promotional and developmental organisations. 3.3 A District Promotion Rate of zero point nine six (0.96) cents in the dollar on the land value of all rateable property zoned or used for commercial or industrial purposes as defined in the Council's operative district schemes. (With the exception of land so zoned which is used principally for residential purposes as an existing use under those schemes). Revenue Required in $000: $106.8 Ward Rates are made where a function, work or service will benefit only part of the District. A rate will be levied on every separately rateable property within the part of the District so benefiting. The application of "part of the District" has been taken to be each separate ward. Ward Rates are levied to fund the cost of certain capital works and improvements together with the cost of local governance and agencies on a ward by ward basis. The use of a Ward Rate will allow improvements to roads which benefit a small distinct locality only and do not contribute to the general net.
3.4 A Separate Ward Rate of zero point zero five eight one (0.0581) cents in the dollar on the land value of all rateable property contained within the Ohura Ward. Revenue Required in $000: $79.8 3.5 A Separate Ward Rate of zero point one four nine four (0. 1 494) cents in the dollar on the land value of all rateable property contained within the Taumarunui Ward. Revenue Required in $000: $141.7 3.6 A Separate Ward Rate of zero point one three nine eight (0. 1 398) cents in the dollar on the land value of all rateable property contained within the National Park Ward. Revenue Required in $000: $63.0 3.7 A Separate Ward Rate of zero point two four eight seven (0.2487) cents in the dollar on the land value of all rateable property contained within the Waimarino Ward. Revenue Required in $000: $273.3 3.8 A Separate Ward Rate of zero point three six eight nine (0.3689) cents in the dollar on the land value of all rateable property contained within the Waiouru Ward. Revenue Required in $000: $32.6 4.0 DISTRICT WATER SUPPLY CHARGES Water Supply Charges are levied for the purpose of funding the cost of treatment, storage and distribution of potable water, to meet the demands of the District's consumers connected to, or which in the opinion of Council is capable of being effectively connected to, a water supply system. 4.1 Water Supply Charge ■ Ordinary (Sections 20 and 24 of the Act) A Separate Uniform Annual Charge, for the ordinary supply of water, on every separately rateable property, or every separately used or inhabited portion of a separately rateable property, that is connected to, or which in the opinion of Council is capable of being effectively connected to, the following Council water supply systems. A Water Supply Charge in respect of the supply of water where such is measured or controlled by meter. Such charge to be calculated on the number of cubic metres of water supplied to those properties connected by meter to the following Council water supply systems: Taumarunui: $1.14 per cubic metre supplied, with a minimum charge of $346 per annum.
