Kindergarten teacher departs
Sue and Ted Kumeroa left Waiouru on Saturday after over 20 years involvement in the community through church and kindergarten. Sue was the first teacher at the Ohakune Kindergarten when it opened 1 5 years ago, moving to Weir Terrace Kindergarten in 1990 as head teacher. Both have been active in the Apostolic Church, with Ted responsible for the Waiouru congregation until the arrival of Pastor Jack Guerin earlier this year. The Weir Terrace Kindergarten farewelled Sue Kumeroa at a luncheon on Wednesday, presenting her with a collage of the children' s photos to take with her memories. "We've really enjoyed t>ur time at Waiouru — it's a neat place and really special," Mrs Kumeroa said. "We've made a lot of friends and we'll miss them but it is time for us to move on." The Kumeroas moved to Whangamata where they will operate the "Bears Early Eduction and Childcare Centre" in a part-
nership. Joint owners are Ohakune residents, John and Yvonne Triggell, who will join the Kumeroas at a later date.
