Poor turn-out at auction
Whether it was the weather, the day or the time is the question for auction organisers raising funds for the Waiouru Plunket Toy Library. The recent auction didn't produce the turn-out organisers anticipated,
which meant over half of the donated goods were left unsold. "We'll re-run it in about a month," Plunket President Julie Batt said. Because some of the items were specifically donated for the auction Mrs Batt said
organisers feel obligated to use the goods for that purpose. She said there are still some very good buys leftincludingbar stools, two two-seater settees and a radio cassette player. Just over $400 was raised from the cake stall, sausage sizzle, auction. "We' re very pleased with that considering the number of people," Mrs Batt said.
