With the help of a few motivated parents indoor cricket in Waiouru is now up and running with an expected membership of around 50. "It's wonderful to have enthusiastic parents who have supported us," main instigator Robyn Cockburn said. "The PTI's (Physical Training Instructor's) and the housing office have given us great support helping us get off the ground." The games are held in the old gymnasium and different times are slotted for different age groups. Eight to ten year olds play from five to six o'clock, while 10 years through to high school age play from six till seven. High school students get their turn from seven until eight o'clock, or thereabouts said organisers. A registration fee of $10 applies or $15 for a family. Indoor cricket will be played every Thursday night.
