New parents' team for Waiouru School

A new team of parents are focusing on the positive and looking to the future for W aiouru Primary School' s Parent Teacher Association. At a meeting held last week a president, secretary and treasurer were elected and the date of 7 June was set for the next meeting. We'd like to see as many people as possible at the next meeting, because that's when things will be nutted out. We've each been asked to bring someone along with us," newly elected PTA treasurer Jenny Gardner said. "We're going to sit down and set a calendar of events to make sure things run smoothly and work out appropriate projects for funds," she said. At last week's meeting it was acknowledged that income for the school from the PTA was coming from mainly one source, the school tuckshop. It was said that a corps of very hard working, dedicated ladies had ^0

ensured the tuckshop had kept ticking over. .

New members of the PTA will be pulling their

weight by organising a Desert Gala for next year.

Thp DpsptI Gala and the hick shon have

traditionally been the main fund raisers

for the school. but no eala was held

this year. At the head of the PTA

stands Elizabeth Carver, the

newly elected chairper-

son, while Bronwyn

Baker was

elected Sec-

retary.
