Waimarino darts
On Sunday 7 May a team of 1 2 and four extras travelled to Tokaroa Cosmopolitan Club to challenge for the Bowater Trophy. This trophy is challenged for by the King Country zoneareas: Tokoroa (South Waikato), Te Awamutu, Te Kuiti, Taumarunui and Waimarino. Considering the high standard of play Waimarino did very well with 4th placing. Taumarunui were the winners with 102 points, Tokaroa 96, Te Kuiti (the last trophy holders) 80, Waimarino 78 and Te Awamutu 54. The next challenge is to be held at the Waimarino dartclubon 16 July. , On Monday 8 May the pairing of Lou Most and Bubba Hope won seven out of seven games. Runnersup were Stephen Wallace/ Ron Pearce and Glenn Wallace/Kaylene Crossan, with a little help from Cilla Brooks, with five wins. High start Lois Penning 120, high score Arvell Wallace 174 and high finish Glenn Most 84. The wooden spoon went to Kathryn Most and Rosalind Foster.
