Trust fund started for Parapara fire victims
Rotary is joining with Chris Windle and her team to raise funds for a trust for the family to replace uninsured furniture lost in their recent tragic fire. President David Lattimer stated that Rotary had passed on their deepest sympathy at the sad loss of Mr and Mrs Pointon's son Jonathon and wanted to assist them in helping them to reinstate their household chattels. It is planned to have meals provided at the Waimarino Club on Friday 19 May from 1 1am to 2pm and again from 5pm to 9pm. Entertainment is being organised and tickets will be available from Four Square, Pricecutters, Information Centre, McLeans and Starline. Rotary calls on the district to support this fundraiser. Ticket prices are $ 1 2 per adult, $5 per child, with a family
price of $30 for dinner, and $10 per adult,. $5 per child, families $30 for lunch. For those who would rather eat at home, delivery is free within Raetihi bounds. Donations including meat for the meals have been made for the effort. Rotary will assist Chris and her team with the preparation and serving of the meals, collating sale of tickets etc. President David said this is an opportunity for the people of the district to express their sincere sympathy to the Pointon's and assist them to get re-established. Ohakune dinner Meanwhile in Ohakune the Lions Club is organising for meals on the same day at the Hobbit Restaurant, where staff have offered their time, partly subsidised by the Hobbit, to work for the appeal. Prices and times are as for the Raetihi dinner.
