Whakapapa offers weather warranty
This year the big news for Ruapehu skiers is the Whakapapa Warranty, a new way to compensate for Ruapehu ' s occasional habit of creating its own weather without warning. The warranty entitles skiers to a full cash refund if day passes purchased at a ticket booth on the Mountain are returned to the RAL ticket office
within one hour of the purchase time which is printed on the ticket. The warranty also entitles skiers, who purchased an off-mountain day pass, to a voucher for another day's skiing if the pass is returned to the RAL ticket office by 10.30am on the day of use. "We can' t manage the weather but we can hope-
fully take the risk out of purchasing a day pass," said Scott Lee, Whakapapa marketing manager. "Alpine weather can change very quickly - the warranty enables us to address the frustration this can cause skiers," "As regular Whakapapa skiers are aware we are striving to exceed customer expectations, this is
one more step on the never-ending customer service road." Exception The only exception to the warranty will apply to multi-day passes which once they have been used on their first day, will not have any refund entitlement.
