Ruapehu riders beat all
Ruapehu College's equestrian team won the Nga Tawa One Day Event held at Nga Tawa School in Marton on Anzac Day, 25 April, being the first state school to win the trophy since 1986. The team of four were Victoria Duigan, Nicola Smith, Amanda Garland and Kelli Godfrey. Twenty five colleges competed, from Wellington, Hawkes Bay, Wanganui, Taumarunui, Palmerston North. Following Ruapehu College were Nga Tawa, second, then Freyberg, Woodford House and Scott's College. Other Ruapehu riders in a second team to compete were Cameron Morris, Adrian Fetzer and Marnie Wenn.
