Massage -athon raises $100

Free massage raised $100 for research into the causes of Batten' s Disease recently. As part of Massage Awareness Week, local therapeutic massage practitioners Glyn Hubbard and Karen Hughs provided free massages for volunteers, who were asked in retum to make a donation towards the charity. Local girl Jenna Parkes is the only juvenile sufferer of the disease in New Zealand. Mr Hubbard thanked the 1 8 people who took part in the event, most of whom found out for the first time the benefits of therapeutic massage, for their interest and their generosity. He also thanked the owners of the building who made available their premises next to the BNZ in Ohakune.
