Moutoa impressions

Two Israeli travellers who passed through Ohakune last week hitched a ride with the Bulletin editor, passing on some useful information about a traffic incident (see Police File). They also talked about their trip around New Zealand which included a visit to the Maori-ocCupied Moutoa Gardens in Wanganui. Asked what their impressions of the situation were, they said they were impressed with the hospitality and points of view of the older people. But they said they felt the younger people were using the situation as an outlet for their frustration. "Some of the young people had hatred in their eyes," said one of the pair.
